Child Labor in the United States

In the state of Iowa investigators found 57 under age workers who were employed at a meatpacking plant. It has brought alot of controversy and problems to the meatpacking plant for the exploitation of children. It is a surprise to hear that child labor still exist within the United States, I thought that it was over a long time ago. Investigators said that most of the children that were employed in the meatpacking company are illegal immigrants between the ages of 11 -17. Elmer L, a child laborer from Guatemala said "he was kicked by an Agriprocessors supervisor, causing one of his knives to cut his elbow". How can someone be so cruel to hit an innocent child who is struggling to make money to support himself. The immigrant employees where prosecuted on criminal doucment fraud but the charges where droped and they are awaiting deportation. The company faces criminal charges as well and if found guilty it could be given fines up to a million dollars. This has become very big case in Iowa and the residents and authority are doing everything possible to stop child labor from spreading out in the corporation world in the United States.
